I was really enjoying this story until I got to the part about the madam of a bawdy house … who shares MY name! Spelling my name the way I do – with the double G on the end – is actually the way it’s spelled as a last name. Imagine my surprise to find another Pegg – first name – only to find that she’s a harlot.

Aside from that personal affront *chuckle* I did enjoy this story. Ethan is a wonderfully flawed hero, the type I seem to be drawn to. Miri is a heroine with a heart of gold, even toward her own family members who do/have treated her badly. And who couldn’t enjoy the appearances of John Newton?! A story well worth reading.

I really loved this story. Growing up, I was always drawn to gothic romance, and this threw me back to those pleasurable reading years.

I sometimes use versions of my kids’ or relatives names. I tell them if they’re going to be good — or really, really flawed… 🙂
